Matt Cutts explains file extensions

One of the most common questions I get is this: is it better to file extension php, asp, html, or that do not? Many still argue that the advantage html extension, but it never know for sure though Matt Cutts've said several times that it does not matter, even recently, that file extension is not important at all .

Sometimes at a conference people will ask me "Does it matter what extension I use for my pages? Does Google prefer. Php over. Asp, or. Html over. Htm? And my answer is "We're happy to crawl all of these file extensions. It does not matter what you choose between any of those."

Of course not important until you choose the one extension that search engines do not crawl, or you certainly will not find in the search results. For example, you can read a post on SEOmoz: Unwritten Google Webmaster Guideline: Do not End URLs in .0 . I knew I encounter sites that have "classic" extension as well as most, but some of his or differently than most. This course is no problem if you do not just happen to accidentally select the extension that search engines do not crawl. So before you start creating your URLs to make sure that your pages with the extension already in the index of search engines, unless you choose a different extension if you expect something from the search engines.

Web 2.0 notion of where and who often writes a lot of demand is an excellent example of how easy it is automatically "fall out" from the index, because if you have rewritejtane links without slash at the end of the term and at the end of the search engines it looks like the file extension .0. Little things that may later cause a lot of headaches.

Google Trends for Websites and SEO

It was only a matter of time before Google will launch a similar service Alexi or Compete , called Google Trends for Websites as part of Google Trends service, which is still active in the past. The biggest problem for these services to measure, at least roughly, what site visitors in this case I think Google will be much easier because it still holds over 70% of all searches and other information for each web that uses Analytics, Adwords, Adsense and what else . In a prime position to have the tools to become more popular than others because of the accuracy of data.

If you check the data for your website I believe that most webmasters will not get the data since the low attendance. As I see it must have at least a few thousand visitors a day to get results. But we can look attractive as sites and compare them with each other. Given that many of these sites you've visited my pages sometimes are seen as publication in Analytics, and since there are some other measurements, eg Gemius, it is about to get some figures on visits to a site. Or at least roughly. Sami tool and provides a regional review visits, related sites and some keywords. Special attention to the key words for our most popular sites and see how the brand is important to visit with Google.

This is definitely a tool to which should pay attention because most sites gets the most traffic through Google, and this tool is just based on that. Bookmark.

Too many keywords in the URL can be a problem

I would not indicate any revolutionary fact, but if natrpate in a URL or a bunch of too many keywords as possible that you designate Google as a spammer, or at least drop the page from the index. I do not believe that this is something which we have much to fear, but it should definitely pay attention to the logic when creating the structure of URLs. As you can overdo it too often with the use of certain keywords on the page so you can overdo it with the very URLom says Google :

Now I'm all for having descriptive URLs, but .... this seems to be taking it a bit too far and I have a bit of trouble identifying anything that matches in the content of your page.

You can read the examples on the above link it specifically considered overkill. As an illustrative example, the URL contains a considerable number of keywords and their variations. These are quite general keywords in the URL and immediately gets the impression that someone is trying to take the extreme factor. And losing the context of the URL because it includes too much.

Any kind of hyperbole can be a problem, it's not just a matter of URLs or other factors. Everything that works best is to do without overdoing it. All one can safely do in a very logical way for visitors in accordance with the rules of search engines.

Use Adwords to test Views

I think that currently there is no better tool than Google Adwords that allows you with such precision and such a short time can give information that people are looking for and which terms require more of them. Other tools can also be used as much as possible, but the Adwords are a world unto itself. Just create targeted campaigns and ad groups, and the next day or a few days to know exactly what is in demand and thus on what to do.

If you have a website and plan to raise attendance, a pay Adwords only see what people click the most. If a particular ad group made good traffic, and you have on your website content of this type, what does this tell you? You have to specifically create. You can also test traženost targeted keywords and everything you need.

Google Keyword Tool shows actual figures

Finally. Google Keyword Tool from now does not display graphics traženost keywords for the specific monthly figures. So you can enter any keyword, eg "real estate", and get monthly search volume for a month back and the average search volume over the past 12 months.

It remains only test what is the accuracy of the tool. If it is more accurate than the former Overture keyword tool I pleased. Besides the novelty numbers and match type or Match Type where you can get the numbers as well as Adwords for an exact match, the term, for broad and negative match. Basically try.

Google Knol Vs. Wikipedia - Nofollow philosophy

You've probably heard that Google has launched a new service of Google Knol, something like Wikipedia. It does not surprise me that much, nor am I interested too, but I ran a post about Google's nofollow philosophy on this service: Knol's Nofollowing of links , where they say the following:

Knol is a publishing tool but unlike some other such tools by Google, this time all your article's outgoing links will be "nofollowed." The nofollow attribute is a mechanism to disable the juice is sending a link to another site. So while you can link to Knol pages to give them more authority in the eyes of Googlebot and others, Knol pages do not pass this measure authority back to other sites.

If I have understood that their philosophy, which is normally a little hard to understand and which again changed, all links will have a nofollow on it. Each link, whether good or not will not be able to forwarding PageRank. Now I do not understand how it fits into their philosophy, save for the spammers to sacrifice all the other good stuff. Also this is a call all the other services and that all webmasters put the nofollow on their links in order to prevent spam and that no one can rank for anything because everything is good, although will not be rewarded. Or did I misunderstood?

Nofollow still somehow does not achieve its goal

I read some comments on the subject of nofollow attribute which is becoming more and more. There are several surveys on more powerful search sites on the subject, which also confirms the title of this post. Of course, comments and polls are any measure, but given that this is a search by industry, mainly reading and commenting on the specific profile of people do some things worth considering. When you take and their own way and thinking about the nofollow attribute and thinking of others through comments, polls, forums and blogs all turns next. People who deal with search engines just do not spend too much time thinking about the nofollow attribute. For them the nofollow attribute does not pose any problem for him, nor have they changed their tactics.

Reading the comments about nofollow webmasters are still buying links because of the ratings only to hide and operate in more elegant manner than hitherto. In ways that search is no chance to find them. Also when you link building does not bother you too much to forward the link nofollow PR or not, just in case it cost. That in one hand and means that spam is still there regardless of this attribute. I have written already about double the rules of buying and selling links and nofollow attribute in large and small sites. Great are simply spared some things while few sites have to worry about it. Mostly it seems to me that Google has failed to achieve what he wanted with these attributes, nor the webmasters who are actively involved in the search industry, it scared. We are still going on what happened before, probably to a lesser extent because of the fear of the majority, but the problem is not resolved.
